It was a company I could be able to work for, but obviously, it didn’t work for me. My first real assesment centre took place in the Helicon building, 5th floor, on South Place in the centre of London. That day, I came earlier (took a flight from Paris) and met my recruiter Catherine – nice sophisticated woman. I was standing in the iron glass meeting room. There were another 11 students, the same ambitions like me, the same chances. I suppose, nobody was advantaged.
In the first part, the marketing team wanted us to present our chosen presentation which we prepared at home. The topic was: My favourite marketing campaign and mine was Dove, Campaign for the real beauty. Very well-known and I had only 4 minutes for it. After lunch, we had 3 main individual tasks. It consisted of the proof reading - finding the mistakes in the technical text, the data analysis text and the writing of a blog from an article about Black Friday. We had 20 minutes for each task. In the last stage, we worked in the group of three and should have sold a product. Our group got a rug and we really enjoyed it by creating a new marketing campaign based on the customisation of the product, or in our case, rugomisation! We broke the ice and created more relaxed atmosphere but I have to confess, the atmosphere was great all day long.
To sum up, I have met incredibly motivating people. From the number of 12, the company chose only 4 and I did not get it. But I’m happy anyway, I could have the best support from so many friends and my members of the family. And it was my driving force in London.
THANK YOU ALL FOR THAT.
It was a great experience for me, so precious. And maybe it should happen, I did what I could and I believe, it has to be hard to choose between so skilful young people. Let‘s start again, let’s start slowly. This was just a warm-up. Two days ago, I have received a personal thank you from Sarah Clelland, the marketing director of Oracle for coming from a considerable distance and for having great energy and enthusiasm. I feel ok. I feel motivated. :-]
