Do you know the story of Edith Piaf? No, because you don't like her or no because you didn't have time for it yet? If you are the second case, keep reading............. In this blog post, I'd like to do a short photo report from the National exhibition EDITH PIAF which is held in tThe exhibition has 4 parts. The regular price is 9 euros, reduced price 7 euros and it is very worth it! Let's begin with the first one: THE PEOPLE'S LADY. Here the audio guide (in English or French) can tell you about her beginnings and personal or family background, also there are displayed the letters from admirers and the amazing thing is, you can play her songs while watching the old posters and photos, for each place, the organizers have chosen specific songs related to the era of her life. In this part for instance songs such as: Le chemin des forains, Bravo pour le clown, Paris, Ou sont-ils tous mes copains? etc.

The second and the largest part is named A VOICE, of course, you can guess, it is all about her career as a singer. Moreover, in the middle of the room, you can see her original famous little black dress. A bit history about it: from 1935 Piaf wore this black dress on almost every concert she had, she had a several same dress. You can see how tiny she was, the dress has about 145 cm. You can read and hear about her career in musicals and the famous Vanity case which she took everywhere around the world with her.
a voice part.
The part I really like because of the design of the rooms is the third one: PIAF IN LOVE. Her life were amazing beautiful chansons but also her romantic life which as lots of people know, was very tragic. You can hear about Marcel Cerdan and also see her letter to Jacques Bourgeat - he was a poet, scholar and the author of a number of songs, the first of which Chand d'habits was written specially for Piaf. She trusted him so much, she told him about all her ups and downs in her love-life.

Last part is amazing, it's called: A LEGEND and it perfectly closes whole exhibition with all of her gentility. You can see a various awards she received during her life, the most famous is of course an Oscar as for her career as an actress and then musical awards as well. The colors of the room are in the dark blue and red and you feel she was a star and the only one who was born with this voice. There are short movies about her and parts of her concerts which you can watch. The whole atmosphere is just something I cannot even describe.. it has everything and it will take you around 2-3 hours to complete it. When you leave, there is a dark wall with Piaf's quote from her song J' M'en Fous Pas Mal which says:''I really couldn't care less. Anything might happen to me."
The exhibition is on till 23rd August 2015. Merci.
